Where your exercise sets are kept
Everything you build is saved in this browser, on this device only. Nothing is stored on the website, so your sets won't appear on another phone, tablet or computer by themselves.
Each browser keeps its own copy too. Sets saved in Chrome won't show up in a different browser on the same phone.
Clearing your browser's data or uninstalling the app erases them. Export a backup now and then from .
Build an exercise set
- Open the tab. To start fresh, tap New. If there are unsaved changes, it asks whether to save them first.
- Type a name in the box at the top, like “Monday circuit” or “Piano scales.”
- Scroll down to Activity and wording and pick what the set is for. The suggested interval names and the word for a break change to fit. You can type your own words there too.
- For each interval, set its name, its length in hours, minutes and seconds, and how many times it repeats. When it repeats more than once, a line appears for the break between repeats. Tap a colored dot to choose the color the screen turns while it runs.
- Tap + Add interval for more. Use the arrows to move an interval up or down, ⧉ to copy it, and ✕ to remove it.
- Under Whole exercise set, choose how many times to run the whole set, or tick Until I stop it.
- Tap Save at the bottom. The banner at the top turns yellow and says “All changes saved.” Orange means there are changes you haven't saved yet.
Run an exercise set
- On the tab, tap the set, then tap Run. You can also tap Run at the bottom of the Build tab to try out what you're building.
- The screen turns the interval's color and shows a large countdown, which repeat you're on, what comes next, and the total time left. It beeps for the last 3 seconds and again at each change.
- Pause stops the clock and Resume continues. Skip moves to the next interval. Back goes to the start of the previous interval. Repeat starts the current interval over.
- Restart all goes back to the very beginning, and Stop ends the session. Both need a second tap, so a bump won't end your workout.
- The eye icon at the top shows whether the screen will stay on. If it has a slash through it, tap it to try again. Keep the page open and in front while it runs, since phones pause sounds when the screen locks.
Change, rename or delete a set
- To change a set: on the Saved tab, tap it, tap Edit, make your changes, then tap Save. If you leave the Build tab without saving, it asks whether to save your changes.
- To rename a set: edit it, change the name at the top, and tap Save.
- To delete a set: on the Saved tab, tap it, then tap Delete this exercise set at the bottom. Tap it a second time to confirm. Deleting can't be undone, so export a copy first if you might want it back.
Move your sets to another device
- On the old device, open . Under Export, leave All exercise sets ticked, or untick the ones you don't want.
- Tap Share and send the file to yourself by email, text or Google Drive. Or tap Download file and copy the file over.
- On the new device, open this same web page and go to Import/Export.
- Under Import, tap Choose file and pick the file. If you sent it as text instead, paste it in the box and tap Read pasted text.
- Check the list of sets it found, untick any you don't want, and tap Import. They appear on the Saved tab.
Share a set with a friend
- On the Saved tab, tap the set, then tap Share this exercise set and choose how to send it. To send several, use Export on the Import/Export tab.
- Your friend opens this web page on their device, goes to Import/Export, taps Choose file, and picks the file you sent.
- If they already have a set with the same name, they're asked to keep both, which adds a number to the new one, or to replace theirs. Nothing is replaced unless they choose it.
Put it on your home screen
Once installed, it opens full screen from its own icon and works without a connection, except for voice commands.
Voice commands
Tap the microphone to control the timer by voice. The words on the buttons, shown in bold below, are what it listens for first. Other words might also work, but no guarantees. Add your own words for any action, separated by commas.
